The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, met the Foreign Minister of Jordan, Nasser Judeh, in his office in Amman on 6 January 2015. The Secretary General’s visit comes at the end of the tour he made to Ramallah and Al-Quds. Madani briefed Minister Judeh on the outcomes of his visit to the Palestinian territories and his meetings with officials there. He emphasized that the visit was a key opportunity to take stock directly of the concrete efforts of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to preserve Islamic holy sites in the city of Al-Quds As-Shareef, and in particular the Aqsa Holy Mosque, by restoring it, managing its affairs and defending it. During the meeting, Minister Judeh expressed support to OIC’s efforts to back the steadfastness of the inhabitants of Al-Quds As-Shareef, reaffirming Jordan’s support to the OIC in its endeavors and its openness to all initiatives and proposals in this regard.
