The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha received on 13 November 2023 at the OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of Chad, Dr. Tom Erdimi, accompanied by a strong delegation.
The two personalities discussed the state of relations between the OIC and Chad's Ministry of Higher Education, as well as ways of strengthening and developing them in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
The OIC Secretary-General welcomed Chad's efforts to promote higher education and scientific research and expressed the OIC's willingness to support Chad in implementing its projects and programs to improve education quality and strengthen cooperation between academic and research institutions in Chad and those in other OIC Member States.
Chad's Minister of Higher Education thanked the OIC Secretary General for his warm welcome and continued support for Chad, and stressed the importance of cooperation between the OIC and Chad in the fields of higher education, research, and innovation. He also outlined Chad's main achievements in these areas, as well as the challenges and opportunities it faces.
The two parties agreed to strengthen coordination and consultation between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Chad. They also agreed to implement the recommendations and resolutions of conferences and meetings organized by the OIC in the fields of education, science, technology, and innovation. In addition, cooperation between the OIC and the King Fayçal University of N'djamena, and the Online University of Chad was discussed.
