OIC Holds a Training Course on Teaching Arabic for Special Purposes

Date: 23/10/2023

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is collaborating with the King Salman International Academy for Arabic Language to provide a specialized training course in supporting and enhancing the presence of the Arabic language. The course is titled "Teaching Arabic Language for Special Purposes," and it will be held virtually over three days from October 23 to October 25, 2023.

This initiative is in line with the implementation of Ministerial Resolution No. 13/49-C, which calls for the commemoration of World Arabic Language Day. The resolution was issued during the 49th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) held on March 16-17, 2023, in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The training course is designed for educational staff who specialize in the Arabic language. The objective of the course is to introduce participants to the concept of teaching Arabic for special purposes and differentiate it from teaching Arabic for general purposes. Participants will also learn the fundamentals of building programs for teaching Arabic for special purposes, as well as practice evaluating its materials and tests.
