Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed deep concern about reports on the worsening living condition of the President of the Republic of Niger, Mr Mohamed Bazoum and members of his family who are still incarcerated.
The Secretary-General who supports regional efforts to reach peaceful solution to the situation in Niger, restore constitutional order and safeguard the country’s security and stability, renews call for the immediate release of the democratically elected president of the Republic and members of his family and government. He urges all actors in Niger to defend the higher interest of the Niger people.
The Secretary-General stresses the importance the OIC attaches to the maintenance of peace, security and stability in Niger and all parts of the region.
