Senegal Foreign Minister Receives OIC Delegation to Arrange for the COMIAC

Her Excellency Mrs. Aichta Tal Sall, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, met on July 14, 2023 in the capital, Dakar, with a high-level delegation from the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, led by His Excellency Ambassador Tareg Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the OIC and Senegal, and ways to enhance and develop it. The two sides also discussed the ongoing preparations for holding the twelfth session of the Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC) chaired by President Macky Sall, to be hosted by Senegal in, Dakar, next October.
The Minister welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed her country's keenness to promote the OIC activities and joint Islamic action. She also stressed the availability of all logistics required for the success of the meeting to promote Member States joint work in the fields of information and cultural affairs to serve the interests of Islamic world.
For his part, Ambassador Bakheet, commended Senegal’s major role and continued efforts to support the OIC work to consolidate peace, solidarity, peaceful coexistence and dialogue. Ambassador Bakheet also appreciated Senegal's commitment to support OIC positions on many priority issues and efforts made to activate COMIAC to enable it to fulfill its obligations in these vital areas for the Islamic Ummah.
