OIC Secretary-General Meets Ms. Sara Minkara, the Special Advisor on International Disability Rights at the U.S. Department of State

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) His Excellency, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, received on Monday, 23 January 2023, in his office, Ms. Sara Minkara the Special Advisor on International Disability Rights at the U.S. Department of State.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General commended Ms. Sara Minkara on her work to lead and support the international efforts to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, and appreciated her visit to the OIC to exchange views on ways and means to coordinate and protect the human rights, inclusion, and full participation of persons with disabilities.
The Secretary-General highlighted the most important challenges facing people with disabilities especially in developed and least developed countries in particular issued related to diversity, gender-Lens, education, society involvement, health and well-being, employment.
From her part, Ms. Minkara affirmed her keenness on strengthening cooperation and coordination with the OIC General Secretariat, and the organs to support persons with disabilities.
