The Director of the Department of Information at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Wajdi Ali Sindi, stressed the importance of strategic partnerships with leading media institutions in the Russian Federation. He added that the OIC encourages enhanced cooperation and solidarity in the information sector and “we are working to provide full media coverage for the various visits of the Secretary General as well as regular bilateral talks between the OIC and senior officials in the Russian Federation. The OIC also highlights the outcomes of those consultations in both the conventional and modern media, with the objective of educating the local Russia, Islamic and international public opinion about the issues under discussion and planned OIC-Russian programmes.”
This came in the intervention made by the Director at the international conference themed: “Russia- Islamic World: Practical Steps in Media Cooperation” organized by the Group of Strategic Vision Russia – Islamic World (GSV), Rossiya Segondya Media Group, Sputnik International News Agency, and the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) in Moscow on 15 – 16 December 2022.
Mr Sindi thanked President of the Republic of Tatarstan H.E President Rustum Mikhanov, President of the Group Strategic Vision on Russia and the Islamic World and the Permanent Representative of Russia to the OIC HE Ambassador Ramazan Abdulaltipov for his efforts that contribution to the staging of the conference.
