The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers groups, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, and their practice of Talmudic rituals in its courtyards, in addition to the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron), and the continuation of the arbitrary measures and the crime of collective punishment practiced by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian citizens, especially in the occupied city of Al-Quds. The OIC General Secretariat considers this a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law, the Geneva Conventions and relevant United Nations resolutions.
The OIC held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for this dangerous escalation, renewing its call on the international community to take serious action to put an end to these repeated violations, and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to respect the sanctity of the holy places, preserve the legal and historical status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
