OIC Secretary General Meets Malaysian Foreign Minister

H.E. the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, met on 19 September 2022 in New York, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), H.E. Mr. Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

During the meeting, the OIC Secretary-General commended Malaysia's leading role within the OIC, and its many contributions to promoting joint Islamic action.

For his part, the Foreign Minister of Malaysia stressed the importance Malaysia attaches to the role of the OIC and his country's readiness to further support the work of the OIC in the service of the issues of the Muslim world.

The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation and a number of current regional and international issues on the agenda of the OIC.
