Secretary-General Receives the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

The Secretary-General H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha received today Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. During the meeting, the Secretary-General reiterated the OIC’s strong and firm support for the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir including their right to self-determination.

Recalling the outcomes of the 48th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Islamabad, last March, as well as the recommendations of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir, he reassured that the General Secretariat will spare no effort in raising the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and in advocating the settlement of the dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir expressed the gratitude of the people of Jammu Kashmir for the support it has consistently received from the OIC. He also reiterated his appreciation for the support and solidarity received from the OIC Member States in the recent OIC meetings in Islamabad.
