The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, on 23 March 2022 met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Mauritanians, Mr Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
The Mauritanian FM expressed his country’s support for the OIC to achieve its noble goals.
The meeting dealt with relations of cooperation between the OIC and Mauritania and ways to develop them.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest, especially the many challenges the Sahel region faces.
