H. E. Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan commended the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, through a written message to H.E. the Secretary General of the OIC Dr. Yousef Al Othaimeen delivered by the Afghan Permanent Representative to the OIC, for holding the International Ulema Conference (IUC) for Peace and Security in Afghanistan in Jeddah and the Holy city Makkah Al Mukarramah earlier this month. The President also applauded the excellent Afghanistan-OIC bilateral relations and mutual cooperation.
In the same vein, H. E. Mr. Salahuddin Rabbani, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, praised in a phone call with the Secretary General the OIC and its leadership for their untiring efforts to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan. He termed the Declaration issued by the IUC a balanced one manifesting the positions of Islamic Scholars and the entire Islamic Ummah against terrorism and extremism. Mr. Rabbani also acclaimed the engagement of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the personal attachment of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for peace and security in Afghanistan and wellbeing of Afghan people.
