The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the continued brutal bombardment of the Eastern Ghouta in Syria, which has claimed hundreds of casualties, wounded thousands and destroyed civilian buildings.
The OIC General Secretariat called for the immediate cessation of such attacks and for allowing humanitarian and medical assistance into the stricken city.
The OIC renewed its commitment to the Geneva Declaration (1) and the relevant UN resolutions, which stipulated the need to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria and urged the adoption of peaceful and political solutions to end the crisis in Syria and ensure security and stability in the region.
