OIC participates at the 36th Session of the Islamic Committee of International Crescent (ICIC) and the Launching of Social Peacebuilding Center in Baghdad

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) commended the Islamic Committee of International Crescent (ICIC), a specialized institution of the OIC, for its active role in supporting those affected by disasters and conflicts in the Muslim world, and lauds the launching of Social Peacebuilding Center in Iraq.

This came in a statement delivered by the representative of the OIC General Secretariat Dr. Yasmi Adriansyah at the opening of the 36th session of ICIC and first promotional forum of the Social Peacebuilding Center (SPBC) held in Baghdad, Iraq, 28 February 2023.

The statement stressed the importance of mobilizing more financial support to the humanitarian efforts of ICIC.

The OIC General Secretariat also commended the establishment of Social Peacebuilding Center as it would help assist societies in addressing social conflicts.

It's worth mentioning that the event was co-organized by the ICIC and Iraq Red Crescent Society (IRCS).
