OIC strongly condemns the attack on Najran

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the rocket attack on the province of Najran from the territory of Yemen, killing seven civilians and wounding others.

The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, said that the attack on unsuspecting innocent lives is primarily designed to undermine the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region; and to abort all efforts to end the conflict in Yemen peacefully. He also stressed that compromising the security of the kingdom, is a compromise of the security and cohesion of the entire Islamic world, is inevitably doomed to fail; and will backfire on those committing and supporting it.

The Secretary General reiterated the OIC's support to the tireless efforts of Saudi Arabia to bring peace in Yemen and support its legitimate institutions; and expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom in all the steps and measures taken to maintain security and stability.

The Secretary General expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and prayed to Allah to grant the wounded a speedy recovery.
