OIC Secretary General: Message to Russian Foreign Minister on The Situation In Syria

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, addressed a message to the Foreign Minister of Federal Russian, Mr. Sergey Lavrov, concerning the ongoing developments in Syria.

In this regard, Mr. Madani noted that the OIC was following with deep interest and profound concern the critical and deteriorating situation in Syria and the tragic humanitarian developments there with their painful repercussions on the Syrian people.

Mr. Madani reiterated the OIC’s firm stand calling for concerted diplomatic efforts to ensure an urgent and appropriate solution to the crisis in Syria with a view to putting an end to the Syrian people’s ordeal, in coherence with the provisions of the Geneva I Declaration and the relevant Security Council resolution.
