Secretary General Receives the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom to Yemen

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, received, at his office on 16 May 2016, Sir Alan Duncan, the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom to Yemen and the members of his delegation.

During the discussion, both sides had thoroughly reviewed the current situation in Yemen and the ongoing efforts to resolve the crisis. Apart from political issues, they had useful and extensive exchange of views on the humanitarian situation and humanitarian aid delivery scenario on the ground.

Both the Secretary General and Sir Duncan emphasized on the need to utilize the momentum of the ongoing Yemeni negotiations in Kuwait to reach an agreement among the Yemeni stakeholders with the support of the larger International Community before the Holy month of Ramadan resumes.
