OIC Secretary-General Receives H.E. Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Commonwealth, and the United Nations

H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), received today, 14 February 2024, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah, H.E. Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, Commonwealth and the United Nations.
Both sides discussed ways and means to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the OIC and the UK, developments in Gaza, and the issue of Palestine. In this regard, the Secretary-General reiterated the position of the OIC and its call on the international community to urgently take effective measures to stop all forms of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people. Both sides insisted on the need to seek the implementation of the two-state solution. They discussed other issues of common interest including Afghanistan and Sudan.
